Home Remedies for Yeast Infection

Candida or yeast infection is basically a fungal infection which is caused by small microscopic yeast or fungus named Candida albicans. Mostly yeast infection spreads into women’s vaginal area, but it can also spread lower abdomen, under your breast area, dentures and other skin folds. Man can also become the target of this infection; a person with yeast infection can feel swelling and burning, and itching around affected parts. If a woman has yeast infection then she can feel discomfort with thick discharge, and difficulty during sex.

  • Antibiotics and steroids
  • Diabetes
  • Menopause

There are many basic and effective domestic methods available for yeast infection, which can help you in such way, let’s take a look some home remedies for yeast infection:-

Yogurt:

Unsweetened and plain yogurt can be very helpful for reducing yeast infection. Yogurt includes healthy bacteria which help to fight with fungus. Try to add yogurt into your daily meal, also you can apply some yogurt on affected area for 15 to 20 minutes, or you can keep this for whole night. For vagina you can insert tampon dipped with yogurt, keep it for two hours and do this process twice in a day. In few days you will certainly feel the relief from burning and itching.

Coconut Oil:

Coconut includes anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties which are quite effective in yeast infection. Apply some coconut oil on affected area; you can also add some drops of cinnamon oil into it. Mix both oil in equal amount, then apply, it will control the increment of bacteria. Repeat this remedy 3 to 4 times in a day.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar has anti-bacterial properties, so as the white vinegar, you can use any of them. Both vinegars include distinctive properties which is effective in yeast infection. What you simply do that:-

  • Make sure use raw and organic apple cider vinegar, mix 2 table spoon of vinegar with 1 cup of warm water and drink this slowly twice in a day.
  • You can add some apple cider vinegar into your bathing water; soak yourself for an hour into this water.
  • You can mix some white or apple cider vinegar with water and apply this on affected area, leave it for 20 to 30 minutes then wash with normal water, do this twice in a day.

Cranberries:

Cranberries are highly effective in fungal infection as well as bladder infection. Cranberries include anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties which are beneficial to kill bacteria. You can take cranberries tablets also for reducing infection, or drink unsweetened cranberries juice three times in a day. You can easily found cranberry juice and tablets on any super store or market.

Garlic:

Garlic also has anti-bacterial properties. You must eat 1 or 2 garlic cloves in yeast infection, or just need some fresh garlic, crush it well mix some coconut oil and apply it on affected area twice in a day.
