What to expect from your first IUI fertility treatment?

If one is considering the intrauterine insemination procedure, one can expect to go through the following steps:

  1. One may begin to take fertility drugs and the ovulation cycle will be shown,
  2. The partner will give a sperm sample that will be washed and created for the insemination.
  3. The doctor will inject the prepared sperm into the uterus.

Getting ready for the IUI process

Before the intrauterine process, one will need to visit a fertility doctor and have a pre-IUI place. With this appointment, the doctor will look if one is good in health. The doctor will check the hormone if the patient is in good health. The doctor will assess the hormone levels to check if they are in the normal range. If one will check to see if the uterus can support a pregnancy.

Before the IUI process the doctor may start on ovulation drugs, while closely seeing one with ultrasound and or blood testing. The monitoring will see that one is developing healthy eggs. It will also support the doctor checking the best timing for the injection of the sperm.

One may also take another test that informs ovulation is about to develop.  A surze in luteinizing hormone will be done after 1-2 days. This will be done at the accurate time of conception.

Creating Sperm for IUI

The partner will provide a sperm sample, which will clean and prepared for IUI procedure. It cleans toxic chemicals. As the toxic presence in the sperms chemicals can cause allergic problems to women. Washing also decreases the chances occurs after the IUI fertility treatment. This will also help to increase IUI success rate.

Inserting sperm during IUI

Inserting the prepared sperm into the uterus is a quick and painless process. It will take only 1-2 hours at the utmost. Next processes are:

  1. The patient will lie down on the doctor table as one normally does for the pelvic exam.
  2. The doctor will inject a very small, flexible and thin into the cervix.
  3. The cleaned sperm sample is injected right into the uterus.

By checking the uterine line to see how thick, the doctor can check the IUI process, was effective.

IUI process for male infertility

A doctor will check the partner’s semen motility and count. Before giving a sperm sample, one partner will want from ejaculation for 2-3 days. The 2-3 day maximizes the sperm count and will make the sperm healthy.
